WVXU sat down with University of Cincinnati’s Michael Neugent for a look into how tariffs impact the markets, retirement funds and inflation. Neugent, associate professor-educator at Lindner College of Business and Director of the MS Finance Program, said that investors in the stock market prefer certainty in fiscal policy to help them map out investment decisions. “Right now, that lack of certainty is providing some angst within the market and investors,” he told WVXU. Many U.S. companies will face challenges from tariffs, but pauses on tariff plans can sometimes lead to more questions than answers.

WATCH: Student-produced documentary explores CCM’s role in BLINK immersive art and light event

In a new short film created by CCM's Production Master Class, viewers can watch as a team of students put their education into action during one of Cincinnati's most popular events. Titled "Blink: A Spotlight on CCM," this mini documentary explores how CCM Lighting Design and Technology students contributed to BLINK, the nation's largest immersive art and light event. Held Oct. 17-20, 2024, BLINK transformed 30+ city blocks from Over-the-Rhine through Northern Kentucky and drew an estimated crowd of over 2 million people to the Greater Cincinnati region.

Study explores reentry challenges for white-collar offenders

A new study, co-led by criminal justice researcher Michael Benson, is the topic of discussion on a WVXU segment. The study found that there are unique challenges for white collar criminals who reenter into society after incarceration. Benson is a professor emeritus and senior research associate in the UC School of Criminal Justice.
